Alphabet Inc has a division called Google X, which was responsible for such
futuristic feats such as driverless cars and balloons that beam internet
all over the world.
One of the projects under Google X called Google Life Sciences now has a brand new name -- Verily, which, writes TechCrunch, meaning “in truth; really; indeed”.
According to Verily’s new website, the company’s mission is “to bring together technology and life sciences to uncover new truths about health and disease.”
Verily already has several projects in the works, including the development of a smart contact lens in partnership with the Swiss drugmaker Novartis that has an embedded glucose sensor, the report said
