ANOTHER TERRORIST ON WANTED LIST CAPTURED

The list containing the names and pictures of 100 wanted Boko Haram sect members revealed by the Nigerian Army recently, has led to the arrest of several kingpins of the terror group.
Danladi Abdullahi, a suspected Boko Haram kingpin, on the terror watch list, has been arrested.
Speaking to newsmen, the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Col. Sani Usman said
“Although he is still being investigated, it has been positively established that he is suspect No. 26 on the list of the declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists issued by the Nigerian Army last month.”

End Time! Pastor Duped woman N1.4M for Spiritual Cleansing

A Pastor, Emmanuel Okwedimbu, was on Thursday arraigned in an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for obtaining N1.4 million under false pretences from one Amobi Charles. Okwedimbu of no fixed address was arraigned on a six-count charge of fraud, theft, felony, threat to life, breach of peace and infringement.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Babaji Ishaku, told the court that the accused did conspire with others now at large to commit felony and stealing. “The accused on Aug. 10, at Alhaji Monsuru Street, Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos, did obtain N1.4 million from Amobi Charles under the pretext of spiritual cleansing.
“The accused also threatened to kill the complainant if he let out the deal,’’ Ishaku told the court. The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 2, Cap 4552, 166(1) (d), 166 (2) and 306 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs J.O Adeyemi, granted bail to the accused with two sureties, who must be gainfully employed and verifiable addresses. Adeyemi adjourned the case till Nov. 16, for mention.

Pandemonium as Community Exhumed, Consume Frozen Chicken Buried by Custom

There was pandemonium last weekend near the Trailer Park at Ebubu, in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State when thousands of youths, women and children descended on a pit where several tonnes of chicken condemned by men of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, were buried. They dug them out and took same home for consumption.
The scavengers came with shovels, pans, basins and buckets to cart home their loot.
The Customs had last Friday, dug a huge pit and buried thousands of cartons of frozen poultry seized at the Onne Ports. Witnesses said the cartons of chicken were brought in six containers and emptied in the pit by NCS .
But news soon spread on the development and early on Saturday, the scavengers came calling. With no security at the site, they dug and opened the pit.
A visit to many homes around the area revealed barbecuing going on as people roasted and fried the chicken.
In one home, a full-length refrigerator was seen stocked to the brim with roasted chicken, while they invited guests to sumptuous meals.
But the development sent an alarm across Eleme and the neighbouring communities about the danger of eating the condemned chicken.
The Archbishop of Commonwealth Covenant Church, the Most Rev. Moses Kattey, had to put out a message  on Sunday warning people against eating the condemned poultry.

Two Students Die From Initiation Concoctions

Two teenagers, who finished their secondary education this year (names withheld), have been reported dead in Kabba, Kogi State, in mysterious circumstance.
Sources told Vanguard that their deaths were in connection with cult initiation by a confraternity in the town.
When contacted, the parents of the teenagers said they were too devastated to speak to the press. They told Vanguard that they did not want the incident reported for fear of police harassment.
A source, who craved anonymity, said the boys died of complications which resulted from drinking a “hard substance,” which was part of the initiation.
He said the boys voluntarily sought to join the confraternity.
The source said: “From what I gathered, one of the boys was given a very hard concoction to drink during his initiation into
Eiye confraternity by the leaders of the cult group.
“The substance, which was laden with very hard drugs, led to the death of the poor boy.”
Another account
However, a new twist has emerged in the controversy surrounding the teenagers’ deaths.
Another account has it that the boy took performance enhancing drugs which overstretched his system and led to his demise.

Ministerial Appointees Commence Retreat in Abuja

ABUJA-The two day retreat for 36 ministerial nominees who were recently screened and confirmed by the Senate recently would kick off today.
Already, the ministers-designate, it was gathered, arrived Abuja last night.
Venue of the retreat is the International Conference Center, ICC, Abuja.
The event which would commence by 9:am is expected to be declared open President Mohammadu Buhari.
It will be recalled that the last batch of the confirmed nominees names was submitted to the president at the presidential villa in Abuja by the president of the senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki on
Tuesday which made the retreat possible.
It is also expected that the inauguration of the appointees would take place soon after the retreat.
